    GROUND HUG® Aronia

You’re looking at a real problem-solving shrub. Ground Hug® aronia quickly covers problematic areas, thriving even in very difficult conditions and looking great while doing it. Spring brings clusters of white flowers that attract all sorts of pollinators, and these become black-purple berries by late summer. Come autumn, it lights up in tones of red, orange, and yellow for an unforgettable season finale, before taking a rest and doing it all again the following spring. Aronia is a North American native that can grow in just about any spot, including the worst: pH extremes are no problem, nor are excessive moisture or dryness. It can grow in sun or shade, though in shade, flowering will be diminished, and fall color not as vivid.

    Why grow Ground Hug aronia?

    • Transforms any area into a low-maintenance carpet of green
    • Spring flowers, summer berries, and colorful fall foliage
    • Native shrub supports pollinators and wildlife

  • LOW SCAPE SNOWFIRE® Aronia

Fire and ice, or in this case snow, are a classic combination, but seeing them perfectly embodied in a plant never gets old. Low Scape Snowfire® aronia exhibits these extremes perfectly. Among its fellows in the Low Scape® series, it is the heaviest bloomer yet! Its spring bloom is fluffy and white and almost obscures the shiny green foliage. You won’t be able to pass by the planting without hearing the steady hum of happy pollinators amongst the flowers. By late summer, an equally abundant crop of dark blue berries arrives, now to the delight of birds and other wildlife. It’s in fall though when the gardener’s gift is delivered – the foliage ignites in a jaw dropping color show of glowing red and burgundy. Altogether this plant is an incredible performer, it gives three solid seasons of interest with very little work to maintain it.

Why grow Low Scape Snowfire® aronia?

    • Three seasons of interest
    • Native plant beneficial to pollinators and wildlife
    • Extremely low maintenance

  • LOW SCAPE MOUND® Aronia

Stabilize soil, keep down weeds, and transform just about any spot – no matter how problematic – into a carpet of green with Low Scape Mound® aronia. Called “chokeberry” by some, this native flowering shrub has an unusual mounded habit that expands the applications for this durable species in the landscape. In spring, it is covered in white flowers; glossy green foliage carries it through summer, accompanied by attractive blue-black berries. Come autumn, the whole plant lights up in red and orange. Low Scape Mound aronia can be planted as an edging, Mass planting, or included in wildlife, pollinator, and native plant gardens. It does sucker somewhat, which increases the overall size of the plant over time, but suckers can be readily pulled or cut out if desired.

Why grow Low Scape Mound aronia:

    • Multi-season interest in a durable, problem-solving package
    • Native to North America
    • Can grow in nearly any condition, even very challenging conditions

    SUNSHINE BLUE® II Bluebeard

For gardeners who love a colorful space! Sunshine Blue® II bluebeard has a baseline of cheerful yellow-y chartreuse foliage. Thanks to its constant color, you could easily plant it in place of coleus! In late summer, the color display doubles! Its airy stems fill with little bunches of bright blue, flowers. This view is the reason for its other common name – blue mist spirea. From afar, it looks like a little blue cloud is hovering over the little mass of foliage.
