La Vida Mas® Indian Hawthorn

Zone: 8, 9, 10 Exposure: Full Sun, Part Shade Height: 1-2' Width/Spread: 3-4'

Finally, an Indian hawthorn that blooms spring, summer, and fall! La Vida Más® rhaphiolepis was years in development, and it was selected not just for the sweet pink hue of its flowers, but its ability to rebloom and a useful, compact habit that expands the use of this long-time favorite for Southern gardens.

Light: Needs full sun exposure to really thrive. It can grow in a minimum of four hours of direct light, but it doesn’t get quite as an abundant bloom display.

Soil: Needs acidic, well-draining soil to really thrive.

Water: Is very drought tolerant once it’s established, which takes a year or so in good conditions.

Fertilizing: A granular fertilizer can be applied in the springtime.

Pruning: Doesn’t necessarily need to be pruned, but if you’d like, you can shape it after the spring bloom.
