Light: Grows best in full to part sun, because it needs at least 4 hours of direct sunlight to develop flower buds. If flowers or fall color aren’t a priority for you, it does grow well in shade.

Soil: Will grow in any type of well-draining soil and even enjoys slightly acidic pH.

Water: Has average water needs, but will not tolerate sogginess.

Fertilizing: Apply a fertilizer formulated for flowering woody shrubs in early spring.

Pruning: Pruning isn’t recommended, as it will affect either flowering or berry set. If needed, you can prune in the late winter or early springtime.

Other: Requires a pollinator to produce berries, use Spice Baby viburnum.
