Light: Thrives in a spot that is situated in direct sunlight for a minimum of four hours and up to all-day exposure.

Soil: Is pretty particular about soil. Grows best in moist soil that is slightly acidic.

Water: Enjoys a consistently moist environment. Will drop lower leaves if it dries out for an extended period of time.

Fertilizing: You can apply a granular fertilizer formulated for evergreens in the springtime.

Pruning: Pruning is hardly ever needed, but you can shape it in the early springtime if you’d like it to have an ultra-tidy look.

Other: Can grow well in shady gardens, but its foliage will grow densest and get the darkest coloring with at least some sun.
